ABOUT THE EVENT

“…the smoky-voiced LeMieux spins the musical language of jazz and blues into something wholly unique and tantalizingly genre-busting.” – The Hartford Courant

” LeMieux plays with the contrast between a clear jazz lilt and a gritty, growling blueswoman, coming across classy and unhinged at the same time.” – Dan Barry, Hartford Advocate

LeMieux and her band have earned excellent reviews for performances at the National Women in Blues Festival, Mamapalooza festival, the International Festival of Arts and Ideas, Hartford’s Infinity Hall, the Glastonbury Apple Harvest Festival and International Women Arts (SWAN) Day Festivals. Most recently, The Sarah LeMieux Quintet won “Best Jazz” at the 2014 and 2015 Connecticut Music Awards, with “Moments Musicaux” winning Album of the Year for 2015.

Sarah also composes for and performs with the award-winning six piece Americana band The Girls from Ruby Falls, and Madame Thalia’s Vaudeville review, as well as composing choral, chamber and electronic music.

Note: Lawn & Concession open to the public one hour before show-time. Facility is closed to public during load-in and sound-check. Picnics are welcome. The Levitt Pavilion and its perimeter is a non-smoking area. Pets are not allowed.
