The Dirty Sock Funtime Band was born out of the collaboration between the Jacobs brothers, who took their early-education teaching philosophy, All Ideas Are Good, and turned it into family entertainment. The result was a hybrid of zaniness, jazz, rock, funk, dance, and comedy.
Time Out NY has named them Best Kid’s Band, and Nickelodeon’s Noggin has chosen them to guest star numerous times on the TV program Jack’s Big Music Show. Their albums include The Dirty Socks Come Clean and Sock-A-Delic.
The band has brought its Rock N Roll Circus Live show to major venues throughout the US, including the PNC Bank Arts Center in New Jersey, Chicago’s Ravinia Festival, and Legoland in California, to name a few! The Socks have also taken the rock worldwide, playing for the children of active duty servicemen and women stationed in places like Guam, the Middle East, and Europe.
The mission of the Dirty Socks, to keep kids believing in the power of their imagination, counts on the talent of a scrappy band of educators and entertainers composed by Mike Messer, Adam Jacobs, Stephen Jacobs, Bill Philips, Sean Dixon, and Annie Elmer. Together, they bring one musical invitation after another to join and jam along. Every song is a shared experience, leaving kids happy, exhausted, and ready for a nap!
The Levitt Pavilion Season features over 50 shows presented free-of-charge (free-ticket shows) as well as our Stars on Tour series and Gala to fill your spring, summer and fall with music, performing arts and more. SIGN UP FOR OUR ENEWS TO STAY TUNED!
